October Wrap-Up + November TBR.

So October is done, Halloween 2016 is already in the past. Welcome November, my b-day month, yay!! =] I always like November and December. The festivities and celebrations [and gifts of course –> more books for me =] yay] hahahahah… Haven’t got a lot of books the past years, but because of paying night school I can’t buy a lot of books this year and coming years… So I’ve set my minds on asking money to maybe shrink my wish lists a bit [hopefully more than a bit, but am not counting on that hahahahah, they’re huge]

Okay let’s see what I’ve read this October!! I finished this month with 6 finished books with a total of 2.628 pages. I started Dracula too, did not finish it yet.

This month got me to 91 books read of my 100 books to read Goodreads Reading Challenge!! Almost there woohoo!!

Bella Forrest - The Gender GameThe Gender Game by Bella Forrest. I got this through NetGalley and it was the first book I’ve read of her. If you love stories like Divergent and such, you’ll love this… I’m happy The Gender Secret is released on November 20th, because I loved it, but that ending WHAT THE FUCK?! I think she wants us to die when finishing her book… But that would be bad for the sales of her upcoming releases hahahhaa… But I felt like going HULK when finishing this book: ME WANT NEXT BOOK NOW WHAAAA!!!

P.C. Cast - Moon Chosen 1Moon Chosen by P.C. Cast… I can only fangirl over this book like crazy!! I went nuts when NetGalley approved me for this one and The Scent of Salt & Sand by her and her daughter Kristin =] She already was one of my favourite authors, but this new series is truly amazing. It seems I took a really long time to finish this book. But I was too enthusiastic with starting it and wanting to review it, I mixed up my reading schedule and finished it later on. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to hold the physical copy of it. It’s so pretty =] You can read my review here.

Dan Brown - Inferno

Inferno by Dan Brown. I finally read this masterpiece!! Still have to see the movie though…. Can’t wait for that amazing book to be visualized on-screen for me… Tom Hanks is an absolutely brilliant actor!! This book really was intriguing and so thrilling, I truly loved it =] I still have to write my review on it. But right now I can say that this book is not like any other work written by Dan Brown. It surprised me, but it’s still a masterpiece =]

Candy Atkins - The Lost KnightThe Lost Knight by Candy Atkins. It’s the first book in a series of 6, the next book The Lost Girl will be released on November 20. I had never heard of Candy Atkins before I requested it from XpressoBooks. I’m really happy I read this book. Candy is such a sweet person on social media =] This is a true fantasy book and unlike what I’ve read before. It had dimension, monsters, magic, war, adventure and a girl discovering who she is. I really recommend it those who love a good fantasy book!!

Megan Crewe - A Mortal SongA Mortal Song by Megan Crewe. Funny thing is I already talked for a bit on Twitter with Megan, but I hadn’t read anything written by her then. Now I’ve read A Mortal Song [NetGalley approved yay me!!] and I loved it. I’m really happy I found books set in Asia because there’s so much history, myth and folklore there, it’s amazing!! This story has elements of magic, family, tragedy, romance, war, patriotism and loss in it. But the story had a really good plot and outstandingly written characters and world. I really, really liked this book!! Would be awesome to see this become a series!!

Finished: October 24

Samie Sands - LockdownLockdown by Samie Sands is the first book in the AM13 Outbreak series. The blurb does not right by the book. The book is better than I expected it to be =] I like watching The Walking Dead [okay, I got too much to watch so I’m stuck in season 2, but will continue watching some day hahahaha] and this is TWD good I believe. Did not see that ending coming and I’m curious for the next books !! I believe the best part of this book is the plot, it’s really breath-taking at times… What I really liked myself is the main character. She’s so cynical at times and I love how she thinks. She reminds me of myself.. Don’t see that a lot =]

November TBR.

Okay, I overplanned another month, I’m sure of it hahahahaha. But I always like to overplan instead of finishing it and linger on my next choice hahahaha. So here it goes:

bram-stoker-dracula

Dracula by Bram Stoker. I started it on October 28 and I’m about 1/5th into the book. I do have to say that I haven’t struggled with a book like this in years. So I’ll read it in pieces to not get into a reading slump… I don’t know what it is, but I can’t seem to get through and that sucks, because I love vampires and this is like one of the founding pillars of vampire fiction!!

Forget Tomorrow, Before Tomorrow and Remember Yesterday by Pintip Dunn. I got Remember Yesterday from NetGalley and I’m currently reading Forget Tomorrow. I’m like halfway through, but I LOVE IT!! Reminds me a bit of Divergent and The Hunger Games [no, that’s not a bad thing] where your life is practically decided for you. In Divergent it depends on the faction you choose, here it depends of what your future memory holds. In The Hunger Games Katniss volunteers to save her sister Primrose, here the memory is connected to her little sister and she tries everything to save her. It’s really thrilling to read this. I don’t believe it’s a bad thing to see resemblances to other books. Everyone gets inspired by life, movies, music, books and such. As long as it stays original it’s fine, you know. And Pintip really did a good job on the originality!! I will continue reading it today and can’t wait to read Before Tomorrow and Remember Yesterday after finishing Forget Tomorrow.

Cornelia Funke - Reckless The Petrified Flesh

The Petrified Flesh is the first book in the Reckless series by Cornelia Funke. Will be my first read of her work. I’m excited to finally read a Cornelia Funke =] This is also a NetGalley read for me =]

elise-kova-the-alchemists-of-loom

Elise Kova’s The Alchemists of Loom is also the first book in her new Loom Saga series. And this too was provided to me through NetGalley and too will be the first book I read of her. This is my debut reading month I think. Hahahhahah, I’m reading a lot of books from authors I haven’t read a book of before.

Steve Dunn Hanson - Sealed Up - The Course of Fate

Sealed Up by Steve Dunn Hanson is the first book in his Course of Fate series. It reminds me of The Librarian, Indiana Jones, National Treasure and such stories. I’m excited to read this arc, because I love those kind of adventures!!

josephine-angelini-trial-by-fire

Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini. A writer my mom-in-law pushes me to read hahhaahahah. This is the first book in her Worldwalker series and also provided to me as an arc. I have seen editions of this series which are so cool together!!

carol-riggs-the-lying-planet

Carol Riggs’ The Lying Planet, another arc for me hahahah… I’m really looking forward to this dystopia =] the blurb sounds really good!!

A.M. Justice - A Wizard's Forge

A Wizard’s Forge by A.M. Justice was also provided to me through NetGalley. The title alone grabbed me. I like wizards and magic, so yeah it took my attention hahahah. I see the blurb and I see another planet, wizard, scholar, pirates, revenges, princes, quests and war. I think I’ll like it =]

samie-sands-forgotten

Forgotten by Samie Sands is the second book is the AM13 Outbreak series. I really liked the first book, so I’m excited to read the next book. This was also provided through NetGalley.

I’ll try to make it so I can read these beauties too.

Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor is the second book in the series. I loved the first book so, so much I can’t wait to read this one!!

The Trials of Apollo’s The Hidden Oracle is the first book in the series by Rick Riordan. I love his writing, so I’m really exciting to start this series too.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child… OMG I still haven’t read it hahahaha. whoops!! But I’ve got a NetGalley TBR Mountain to get through first….

Any Other Name is written by Emma Newman and is the second book in The Split Worlds series. I started it, but didn’t finish it then because of a read-a-thon, now it just slips my minds every time hahahaha…

So this is my Wrap Up and TBR.. How about yours?

In case you’ve missed these:

XoXo Felicia.
