January + February Wrap-Up

So today a two month wrap-up… Last month I totally forgot all monthly posts.. whoops.. But another thing is different this month.. Normally I do a Wrap-Up post with my TBR for the next month. But because of the Take Control Over Your TBR Challenge by Caffeinated Book Reviewer I decided to make my sign-up post my March TBR post as well =] Watch out for it, it will come later today or tomorrow probably =]

January Wrap-Up.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth book in the Harry Potter series. I wanted to finish the series in December 2016, but my TBR was way too big hahaha..

J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This was the first time reading it. I actually won the book, which was great. Because I was really bummed I couldn’t buy it right away. It was the first Harry Potter I couldn’t buy right away ='[

I have different opinions about act 1 and 2.. Act 1 got 3,5 quills from me and act 2 4,5 quills.. So it sums it up to 4 quills. Mainly because the first act was weird as shit..

Started:    January 6

Finished: January 7

Rating: 4-quill

My first Harry Potter library book was up next –> Quidditch Through the Ages. I’ve owned this little book for 7 years now, but never read it before.. Shame on me!!

I liked seeing how the most popular wizarding sport came to be =]

Second was Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The library book yes =] This was amazing to read. All about those magical beasts and those notes by Harry and Ron in the book were really funny =]

This one I really loved. Actually loved it so much, it made me write the review immediately after finishing it. And that was something big, because my last review beefore The Diabolic was of Moon Chosen around the end of September or the beginning of October… Read review here.

Sara Raasch - Snow Like Ashes

Snow Like Ashes, the first in the series by Sara Raasch.. I actually got it earlier by accident. I had a bday book wish list made up and was ready to order, when my boyfriend told me he had a surprise and happened to have ordered the Illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as a surprise. He did not think I would have that at the top of my list xD.. So I deleted it from my list, as it was already on its way to me, and selected the hardcover of Snow Like Ashes instead.

Started:    January 15

Finished: January 22

Rating: 5-quills

Icicles Like Kindling is the prequel novella to Snow Like Ashes. I chose to read it after I’d read Snow Like Ashes. I really liked the story. It gave a good background to Snow Like Ashes. It sadly does not have a cover.

Finished: January 22

amanda-bouchet-breath-of-fireThis one was a really anticipating read of mine. Breath of Fire, the second book in the Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet. It’s such a good series and Amanda is such a sweetheart =] I really recommend this series to anyone who enjoyed thr A Court of Thorns and Roses series. It has the same pacing, romance and action in writing. But different stories of course. This series includes Greek mythology and I love it!! The only reason it took me so long to read this one was that it was a pdf only readable in my Kindle App on my Iphone.. I like reading on paper or on my Kobo Aura much better than the screen of my phone. It tires my eyes much quicker than paper or ereader screens.

Started:    January 7

Finished: January 23

My only book haul these two months. I was so looking forward to reading Carve the Mark!! I had ordered it on December 20 last year and finally read it!! I really liked it and will explain my reasons for it in the review coming soon =]

February Wrap-Up.

I could finally read on after The Gender Game. This series, written by Bella Forrest, is truly amazing. It has a lot of action, a good story and great characters. I was really happy to continue this series where it left off =]

Started:    January 30

Finished: February 4

Rating: 5-quills

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a booklet I wanted to read for so long. But I’ve waited too long to start reading it. It basically was just being pretty on my shelf xD But those stories are really something wonderful. Each with their own lesson for a magical child to take with them in their lives.

Started:    January 12

Finished: February 5

Rating: 5-quills

The Gender Lie by Bella Forrest. The third book in The Gender Game series. This one started on the second half of the conversations where The Gender Secret left off. This series is a read-in-one-go-series.

Started:    February 5

Finished: February 5

Rating: 5-quills

Haven by Katherine Bogle was a book outside of my comfort zone. I read it as a Read & Review opportunity given by Rachel E. Carter. I don’t read many books that are mainly about royalty. I imagined it more Tudors like than it was. It did not dissapoint me =] Read review here.

Started:    February 6

Finished: February 9

Rating: 4

Caraval was a higly anticipated read for me. I’ve never read a book with a Carnival theme. But this was amazing!! Review coming real soon =]

Started:    February 9

I was so excited to start this series. Rachel E. Carter provided me with this book to read in return for an honest review. I immediatley fell in love with this series!! Read review here.

Non-Heir is the prequel novella to The Black Mage series. I decided to read it after I’d read First Year. I don’t think it matters if you read it before or after. I loved Darren’s backstory and I especially loved how the ending of this novella and the beginning of First Year intertwine with two POVs. Read review here.

Started:    February 15

Finished: February 16

The second book in The Black Mage series is Apprentice. It’s about the years after her First Year. It was a real action-packed blast to read!!

Started:    February 16

Finished: February 18

Candidate is the third book after Apprentice. In this book the story gets more serious and surprising. I love her writing style and I did not see the big surprise coming at all =]

So this was my wrap up for these past two months. Anything exciting I’ve read you’d like to read??
